All Utility Stores Across Pakistan to Shut Down
A big and shocking news has come to the people of Pakistan! The government has taken a final decision to close all utility stores from July 10, 2025 on the instructions of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. According to a report by Hum News, more than five thousand employees across the country have been included in the surplus pool and will be offered a voluntary separation scheme.

More than 5,000 employees of the Utility Stores Corporation have now been added to the Surplus Pool, and they will be offered a Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS). This sudden step has left many employees uncertain about their future, while sources claim the move is part of a larger restructuring plan.
Operations Begin to Shut Down Nationwide from Today
The decision was formally announced during a high-level meeting chaired by the Managing Director of Utility Stores Corporation. According to the official notification, the process of halting all active Utility Store operations across Pakistan has already begun from today.

It was also decided in the meeting that all items currently stocked in Utility Stores will be gradually shifted to central warehouses. Once there, the goods will be either returned to suppliers or auctioned off under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
