Ramadan School Timings 2025
Keeping in mind the blessings of Ramadan, the working hours of all government and private schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been changed. Educational institutions will open at 7:30 am and close early so that students and teachers can continue their education in a comfortable environment during the fast.
According to the new schedule, primary schools will remain open from 7:30 am to 11:30 am from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, while on Fridays, school timings will be from 7:30 am to 10:30 am. The same timings have been fixed for high and higher secondary schools, so that educational activities can continue without any disruption.

This new schedule is specific only for the month of Ramadan, after which schools will reopen at normal timings. The government has appealed to parents, teachers and school administrations to strictly adhere to these timings so that students do not face any kind of problem.
The aim of this initiative is to facilitate fasting students and teachers, to fully benefit from the blessings of Ramadan without affecting the educational process, and to reduce the difficulties of staying in school for long periods of time during the summer months while fasting.
New School Timings During Ramadan
According to the official notification issued by the Education Department, the school hours have been adjusted as follows:
- Primary Schools (Government & Private):
- Monday to Thursday & Saturday: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM
- Friday: 7:30 AM – 10:30 AM
- High and Higher Secondary Schools (Government & Private):
- Monday to Thursday & Saturday: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM
- Friday: 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM
These revised timings have been set to accommodate students and staff who are fasting, ensuring that academic activities continue efficiently while considering the well-being of all individuals during Ramadan.

Effective Period and Post-Ramadan Schedule
The Education Department has clarified that these new school hours will be in effect only during the month of Ramadan. Once the holy month concludes, schools will resume their regular schedule as per the usual academic calendar.
Purpose of the Adjusted Timings
The revised school hours aim to:
- Provide a comfortable learning environment for students and teachers during fasting hours.
- Reduce the burden of long school hours in the hot weather, which can be challenging for fasting individuals.
- Ensure that students continue their education without disruption while respecting the spiritual and religious obligations of Ramadan.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has urged all educational institutions to strictly follow these timings and ensure smooth operations throughout the month. Parents, students, and school administrations are encouraged to take note of these changes and adjust their daily routines accordingly.
With these changes, the provincial government aims to balance academic commitments with the religious and physical well-being of students and staff, making Ramadan a more manageable and spiritually fulfilling period for all.
